Hi everyone

When we install the hood hinges to a 1972 demon what type of clips do we use.

I tried c clips and there seems to be to much play.

Any help here or pics would be helpfull

They are push on clips that seem available at Lowes and some others. I have read that a few folks opt to drill the pin and use a washer and cotter pin for positive retainage.

Attached is a picture of the clip.

7/16" Chrome Internal Tooth Washer.

Mine is a 74 Dart sport, perhaps the same though.

I've seen others remove the pin completely, drill it out at the body and use a nut/bolt with washers to obtain proper spacing if needed for the same reasons 1969383s mentions.

Some members have stated that the clips found at Lowes, etc.. are a bit thinner/weaker than OEM. Wouldn't stay in place. I don't know that's true. There could have been a worn hinge issue too. Anyway, To drill a cotter pin hole might be the best plan.

Do you sell them?

I had rebuilt hinge units from S&S installed on mine at restoration and they were delivered with the push washer/nuts. No issues thus far. I kinda figured the pieces lowes may sell are a bit thinner. Not a great design to start with!

I stock the hinge pin clips as they were also used on the E-Body decklids. They are so small, that hey can go out in a regular mail envelope and traditional postage.

How much to ship to Toronto Ontario

I will have to get you a quote to your Canada location, what would be your zip equivalent for Toronto?

I once shipped 4 small phillips head screws in a basic standard size paper only envelope.
The USPS sorting machine ripped the envelope open. Buyer received a torn and empty envelope. So I learned the hard way, padded/bubble wrap lined envelope at minimum.
These push clips are about the same thickness as dimes. We don't know what the automated sorter can pass. Cheers

The concern with shipping any item other than a piece of paper into a different country is customs. Even though they have very little value, customs can view it in a different manner.
