727 transmissions are so complex

I had a Ford-o-matic (Daddy of the FMX) in my '57 Fairlane 500. Had 2 speed ranges but 3 speeds? You put it in L and took off, then you shifted to D and it would shift into second, then you put it back in low to hold 2nd and then finally back to D for 3rd gear. Ditched it for a C4 behind a 351C which promptly broke an input shell.
