Stop in for a cup of coffee

Today’s stupid work story...

The company admin (20 year professional) gets a receipt for charges from the shipment packing company we use for everything. She claims not to recognize the card number or the bank it's from. She sends emails to the entire senior staff, but not me. She gets a half dozen people wound up trying to figure out what the bill is for and where the credit card came from. Nobody knows, but everyone wildly speculates.

3 hours later, she gets the vendor on the line and tells them that they have billed the wrong card and the invoice isn’t ours. They get a bunch of their people looking into it and can’t find the problem.

2 hours after that she finally emails me with the invoice and asks if I know anything about it.

Yes I do, that’s our packing company and that credit card belongs to the CEO. Its the one they have on file and have always used. You didn’t read the receipt properly and the so-called credit card number you asked everyone about is actually the invoice number. Look on the last page of the invoice and see the credit card billing info plainly shown. You also got the bank wrong. Then I sent her a photo of the actual card.

Silence.

An hour later, I get a reply from her saying simply “I’m a dumbass.”

Yes...you are. :wtf:
