How many near fatal accidents have you had?

In about '76, I had a Honda 350/4, which was very fast for the day. I was riding down a very twisty and unfamiliar canyon at night, doing about 110 in a 45 zone. I was getting to where the canyon flattened out at the end, and saw a H-U-G-E sign, indicating a 90 degree turn with a recommended speed of 25. All I remember was thinking I needed to get on the brakes, right now. When I woke up, my head was a foot from a telephone pole, the bike was lying on its side, and all I had was a few holes in the seat of my britches. I got up, dusted myself off, started the bike, and continued on my way. Oh, and that was my last racing experience - I figured I was given a gift of a second chance, I wasn't going to waste it by being stupid another time.
