Resurrecting Mom's Duster

Instrument cluster done.
(Except for wiring) My first attempt at a “custom” cluster. It’s by no means perfect, but I am more than satisfied with the outcome.

I did something similar with my instrument cluster. The Mopar “M” is my high beam indicator. I need to put another bulb in there though as the LED in there is currently too bright

Have you got to take it out for a drive yet?

Just around the block a couple of times. There still is no glass installed and the front end is out of alignment. But definitely a hoot to drive. The neighborhood has mixed feelings I’m sure.
12” glass packs certainly will turn some heads and create either smiles or scowls.

Lookin good. Looking forward to when you can put the car through the paces and tell us what you think of the fuel injection and how much fun a 440 is in a duster.

thats pretty funny, if you ask me

Loving it Strong! The butterscotch really does it for me on that car, it's very inspiring to see builds like this. I have been looking into the QA1 set-up myself, what type/diameter torsion bars did you use?

Thanks, I believe they were .920 from Mancini’s. Couldn’t tell you my reasoning behind that choice. Guess I was wanting heavier than the stock slant 6 bars but not super heavy either.

That's the same thing I was thinking of going with after reading AR Engineering site. I am wanting to get rid of the chassis flex to alleviate the outright spooky handling at speed, really like your subframe connectors. Heavier bars than stock would enable me drop the front end height with the small block but still have enough spring rate for a decent ride.

Just adding a few pics. Put a few turns on the torsion bars to get some ground clearance for the oil pan. Getting used to the higher stance.

Couldn’t find a local glass shop that wanted to install the windshield so I installed it myself. With some searching on FABO and YouTube got it done!

Took the Duster to work yesterday. Ran great! Still a long way to go but it’s a driver. Exhaust and alignment are next on the list.

Well folks had a couple of set backs on the Duster. First I had a rocker arm fail and put a push rod right through it. Also found that the builder of the engine had put a number of old worn out rockers, then had an oil pump o-ring fail and cause a pretty good leak.

Tuned in-first time I've read this particular thread-looks cool man! Looking forward to hear more about your fixes
