Well got my 1972 318 flex plate cleaned up and was going to attach it to my new converter. Well no dice.

Hughes performance 24-25 converter.

Any flexplate recommendations?

340 auto 727. Mild Street car 68 block.

It is for 727 but my converter won’t work. Erg

Sorry converter is fine. This flexplate doesn’t fit obviously so I need one that does. I’ll measure the diameter of the flex plate and the converter and go from there I guess. Was looking for a recommendation for one that fits this converter and a 727.

The converter is neutral balance. No weights. Internally balanced 340

That's a 727 flex plate. I have the one you need. $35 shipped. PM me if you want it.

Interested If you have one. that would be great. I’ll measure my converter diameter. Pm me some pics if you get some time.

There are only two possible choices (with the offset crank pattern you have)
A 727 diameter, and a 904 diameter.
I can get a 904 sized one in the mail to you tomorrow

Looking like I need a 10” flexplate for a 727

If you are going to get new one, may as well get an SFI spec flex plate. B&M or others from mancini, jegs, summit.

What does Hughes say? Many aftermarket converters take a non-standard flexplate pattern.

there are two size flexplates. you just need the small one.. easy to find and get.

if it were me i'd spend the money on a sfi approved one.. will be quite a bit stronger then those stock things..
just make sure it has the right size holes.. the better converters are set up for 7/16 bolts not the tiny stock ones..

i have a shelf full of the small stock ones if you want one.. just pay shipping.

Thx for all the help. I’ll order an SFI 10” Flexplate today.

I spoke with Hughes on the phone before I bought this converter they recommended for my build. I didn’t recall the diameter of the flexplate when I bought the converter.

Chrysler used two sizes of flex plates back in the day. Each size had it's own bolt pattern for mounting the flex plate to the crank. See attached pdf.
Hope this helps.
