I am having a hell of a time trying to find replacement copper washers for the front discs on my '73 Duster. I'm referring to the washers that go between the banjo bolt and the hose and the hose to the caliper.

Does anyone have a source for these? None of the local parts stores carry them...or even know what they are...

Thanks.

Watch the new ones they are steel with a copper coating and have to be annealed. Hang on just saw some nos.

doubt they are the correct size but Ford 9" uses copper crush washers on the 3rd member bolts.

Have you tried local hardware stores? Ace? Tractor Supply maybe?
It's not a car only item.

Do you have a NAPA near you? The local napa has a blue drawer with a pretty vast assortment of copper washers. That is where I got the ones for my hoses.

There is a NAPA but I can't find the washers on their website. Might just have to go there and look.

Also be careful of the ones that come with the calipers. They are usually thinner and DO NOT seal.If they are too thin the hose body will bottom out and the washer wont crush.
I bought an assortment of copper washers, think they came from the hardware store.

Yes, I have to go to the store. I'm not sure how they work the items in the drawer but the local NAPA has items in those drawers that don't appear on the website.

I bought a box of assorted sizes from Harbor Freight for a couple of bucks.

The reason they don't seal is usually because they are too hard. There was a discussion on this some time ago. You can heat anneal them and solve that problem

definitely hit the easy button on this one most all parts stores have a little bag of those behind the counter when you buy a new brake hose sometimes they're not in there. Just talked to the manager at the closest parts store to your house.

O'Reilly stocks them all day long. There's an assortment on the help isle.
