Anyone out there running something on these lines. This will be my first Mopar build with w2's. I am a little leary about the aluminum offset valve train does it stand up or do they like to pound out?? I am a newbe here any insight will be well received. 360 max 12 lbs of boost/ water injection very streetable more medium build motor. My father has turbocharged his 360,340 and twins on his 440 but never with w2's. I heard they are there own animal... Thanks guys...

Sorry, “Valve train pound out?”

There safe a few very good companies out there for W2’s rocker arms and hardware.

Harland Sharp
TD
Crowed
Jesel
to name a few.

So it's quality stuff. I tend to overbuild everything I touch. Comes from being a farmer. Is one more preffered to the other? Cost doesn't bother me because I'm not doing this to save money. The other question i have is what about the new w2 heads are they decent quality or China junk??

Go big block.
LMAO, so sez the 6 pack small block guy!

TD would be about they top of the heap and what MoPar recommends. Look up “B3 racing” for geometry correction kits to get the best possible out come from any set up you use.

The best in car fitting header would be TTI. Thick flanges and excellent fit. Expensive but worth it. Made by a MoPar guy for MoPar people because normal header companies SUCK!
He also designs full exhaust kits with straight true duals, H or X pipes in 2-1/2 or 3 inches with Dynomax Super Turbo’s or without mufflers.
Of course there is also still Hedman for other options.

I have been running a set of W2 heads on the street for about 15 years now. That was after I used them in a race car for a few years. Mine are the early W2 Econo heads. I have never broken a rocker. I ran Jesel 1.6 aluminum rockers on the race car and then used them when I upgraded to the W5 heads. Well into the 7000 RPM range in the race car. The street W2 heads I have right now have the blue Mopar Performance 1.5 aluminum rockers. I think Crane made them for Mopar and have been discontinued as far as I know. They are a little different to set up but I have never heard of "Valve train pound out". You do have to make sure you use the correct rocker arms and shafts, and make sure they are oiling correctly. They are awesome street cars heads too. Stuff is not cheap that's for sure.

rumblefish is right. I forgot about the exhaust.... that's sucks big time. But it can be done with lots more money.

You will need the correct intake manifold as well. Not the same as a LA

W2 Econo heads with Mopar Performance rockers. They have a lot of miles on them too.

I run W2 with Harland Sharp rockers, no issues. A word of wisdom I learned early in life, buy it right the first time, or you'll buy it twice. Expensive parts dont seem so expensive when they last.

Agree 100 Percent cpearce. I can tig up most of the exhaust I have an endless supply of 404 stainless, elbows, pipes and whatnot. Next question where beside jegs or summit for new w2's. I don't like buying used heads just my opinion. Thanks for all the info so far...!

Goggle W2 for sale and you’ll find a bunch of choices but do ask before you make a purchase.

Monicatti (sp?) has good prices. But keep checking around.

Try your local Chrysler dealer, you wont regret using W2 heads.

Thanks. I wish I could have a see through engine so you could see where all the money is. LOL. Fun stuff once you get it right.

Did I miss something? W2s haven't been made in decades. Welcome by the way. Depending on your intended RPM and spring pressures will decide on which rockers you will buy. On my street stuff I have used Crane golds for years and they work great. For my latest all out twin turbo W5 build I went with Jesel and I have to say that they are a work of art.

W2 heads are still made

There still advertised for sale in standard and 48*.
Hey just got mine a few months ago.
W5’s have not been made in a long time but brand new never used sets pop up every now and again. If fact, there is a 2 pair for sale right now in the classified section.
