Just got a model 3 dual motor performance delivered yesterday. My commute is 140mi 3 times a week. My current commuter which I love only gets 20 mpg. I’ve got 150k+ on it now and it’s 10 years old. Waited 2 years for this car to come.

Holy fook this thing is wicked fast. 3.3 zero to 60. Fun getting used to it. Not saying electric will be the death of the combustion engine yet but I’m impressed so far.

Flame me all you want but this thing is a blast to drive.

Maybe if you play hemi engine sounds really loud from the stereo while driving...

Have a friend with a P100. That car blew my mind and would blow the doors off my dart. They are cool cars for sure. Now Elon just needs to hire someone that knows how to run a car company.

Flame? Are you kidding? Jealous.

Electric vehicles will really take off when they can be either recharged in the same time it takes to refuel a car with gas or the batteries exchanged in a reasonable time.

They are awesome! Performance and reliability top notch! But they don't make noise, they don't smell, and they don't have that "feel" to them that us old guys know and love. I don't blame people for buying them, they're fantastic! Just not for me.
By the way, congratulations!

Say what you will, but you can't argue the fact that they've got no "soul"
I think they're cool, would love to drive one, but the money! That's big block E body money.

I love the Lotus gliders they made into Tesla roadsters. I used to see 2 a week, now I see one a month? I had a P85 (?) take off in front of me in a residential 2 lane street with cars lining both sides. from the stop sign, he used the whole road for about 200 feet and shut it down. Must have hit 70, and missed 10 cars by inches. What a jerk, but that thing would be untouchable. I wish the build quality would pick up. I see many with body seams that are not real uniform. For a flagship car of a US company, they should pay a little more attention to that stuff. We have car carriers come here loaded with BMW's and the same car carrier leaves here loaded with Teslas...and tractors? Bound for Germany. Id let it drive me to work for sure.....

It’s weird not hearing the 4.2L V8 in my Audi station wagon. Good thing I still have Mopars to fall back on to get that visceral feeling.

I’m sure I’ll nit pick the car but fit and finish has improved from what I can tell.

I had never heard of Tesla before until a while back a buddy at work was talking about this new Tesla semi truck. So I looked it up and watched a video of the unveiling of it. It blew my mind. So then I started looking at the cars holy moly those things are cool but the price tag geez!! No way I could ever afford one that thing cost about 4 times more than my house.
They are building a Tesla charger station at the sheets in my town! Maybe I will get to see one in person soon.

Hello All,
You can retrofit into your Telsa with the "Sound racer V8".
This will bring your new electric car back in time to when cars made music to the ear.
You can see a demo of it here.

And buy one here

May need a little tweaking seeing you have no Alternator but I am sure our fellow FABO members can come up with a work around for that.
Happy Mopar (gas motor that is) :)

You guys remember that guy on here years ago that put and electric motor in a duster? I think it was orange or red.

The irony.

or... when the batteries can maintain full charge in lower temperatures such as we experience up here in the North. BTW, a lot of the USA and Europe have the same climatic conditions as Canada. This is a situation that is about to "raise its ugly head". Another less discussed issue is where the power is going to come from to charge all these vehicles. Some quick googling tells me that there are presently 1.2 billion cars on the road in the world presently. Can you imagine if just California converted 50% of their cars to electric what an enormous strain it would put on their electrical grid!! They can't keep up with their requirements now, let alone add to the electrical demand. Also, half the energy consumption in California is fueled by natural gas so there goes the "green gains". As well, supplies of Cobalt and lithium, the key components of the most efficient batteries presently available are getting harder to find (read more expensive) so I don't see batteries getting cheaper any time soon. Bottom line, look at how long we have been trying to refine the electric car. 1st ones showed up in the early 1900's and we still haven't solved the battery life/ range problem. We even put a man on the moon in between and almost blew up the world but... no solution to this problem yet..

No interest in "flaming you" LOL !! but I am trying to learn something here, (cost per mile, resale value , battery life etc..)

If you wouldn't mind, what car was your last commuter? What is the approximate cost of a Tesla Model 3 , did you buy new or used?

A little wind mill with a 12" fan on the roof will keep it charged while you drive....
