A body non 7.25 rear end

Hi, if you have been following Dany's intro to bracket racing on the forum you may remember we swapped the 7.25 for a 8.25 early this summer.
It was a 2.45 ratio open and we switched it to a 3.55 sure grip.
The first set of used gears would not pattern correctly and were noisy.
The second, new set patterned the same odd way and were also noisy.
We ran it all summer this way and had a blast!! But now I would like to correct it this winter while the racing is down.
So what we have learned the hard way is you CANNOT put lower (higher numerically) gears in a 2.45 housing. The pinion is not only moved over but also down and will not give a good pattern.
The '66 Barracuda in question has been converted to BBP so we will need a BBP rear end.

Thinking our choices are:
Another 8.25 with the proper housing and then sell the one with the taller gears?
See if someone on here has an 8.75 A body housing (even a cut down C/B/E housing, not building a show car)?
Or do I pony up and just do a 8.8 swap? (easiest to do locally but more work)

So, what does everyone have laying around that they aren't using?
The closer to Cincinnati/ Northern Ky the better.

Thanks so much guys!!
