Related to preserving these photos, is the back stories of the various drag classes that these cars ran in. I think that this would lead to info on different racing organizations and their rule changes over time leading to drag racing as we know it today.

Charlie Malyuke. He worked for Chuck Ostrich and they did some R&D work for Ma Mopar. See the mods to the 383 block. (for 426 Hemi heads) Back in the early Pro Stock days.

See that fence on the right side of the photo? We made the trip from the desert to OCIR for a nitro show. The Armor All Rocket car was there also. The Armor All Rocket BLEW that fence down! If you had pit side tickets you had to pass behind that fence to get to your seats. Talk about the safety safari scurryin around . No one injured luckily.

Just to pass on to those who are enjoying this thread. Just got a new book, "Maximum Performance- Mopar Super Stock Drag Racing, 1962-1969" by Jim Schild. Have not finished reading it yet, but it is great! In great detail, traces Mopar high performance from the beginning but focussing on 1960's. Including rule changes and the creating of new classes, how things changed and evolved. Bought this through Summit.

Another one, this one from Richmond Dragway in VA. 62 Dodge Polara 500. 440 with Max Wedge stuff. 9.90 best time ever.
