Regardless of the lamp type, if the reflector and lens are not well designed and well manufactured, the result is junk. Could be better off with an antique well made 6014 lamp than a junky H6024 or H4. We're lucky that a few people inside the industry have been willing to share analysis and objective test results on the internet. Might as well take advantage of it. The Nighthawks mentioned above are very inexpensive, and the Hella Vision Plus lamps are pretty reasonable (but good bulbs for them add to that cost).
