Wow that is amazing!! Cool pics.
I have a buddy that works out of Dutch Harbor, he has some pretty incredible pics of bald eagles. Sadly he has some less dignified shots of them swarming the dump and begging like a bunch of pigeons or sea gulls..
Nice shot! We have bald eagles on our lake. I see them flying back to their nest with a fish, but I have not seen them at the instant of capture like you have.

We got them here, near the Ohio River. They tend to stay fairly close to the river, but in the spring they get around more. I have seen them on top of roadkill, but not very often. Several years ago, a carcass was found further up river, it literally turned into a federal case. Whoever found the carcass, kept a feather or something. It got ugly for that person. The eagle was hit by a truck while on roadkill, I know a lot of money was spent investigating that too.

We have them here in SoCal as well. They like to nest up near Big Bear Lake in our local mountains.

They migrate thru where I was this of the year. The Kokanee are spawning. We have 3 that are here year round. Seen them circling the Lake this summer. Went for a walk to where the nest was, the teee is snapped off. But I seen them circling just last week. Think I know eoughly where to look for them.

There is a bad moon on the rise.
They found a nest near us they estimate at 2000 pounds.
Beautiful pictures. We are bless to have a very large population of Eagles in Central Florida. We spend lots of time on the St. Johns River and see them every trip.

I have gotten a few good photos of the Ospreys diving for the snapper blue fish in the bay on Long Beach Island NJ over the past 30 years. I have learned to watch them to determine where the fish are in the bay so I can go catch them.

We have the Bald Eagles on the north shore of Lake Erie now, I have never seen one yet but lots of sightings. We went to Alaska last year , saw many there. We have Osprey on the Grand river a block away from me, the province erects nest poles for them and they build a good size nest. They are a better fisherman than I'll ever be... haha

Eagles are pretty prevalent around here in the winter months, especially around large bodies of water.

Another piece of my tripod head is showing up tomorrow...now if we could get a clear day so we have some decent lighting.
This is a Wimberley Gimbal head. It allows you to effortlessly track your subject without the strain of holding your rig. The camera body and lens I am using is just over 12 pounds...makes it a bit tough to be steady while chasing the birds around.
This is a leveling head. No need to sit there and fiddle with the tripod legs to get the tripod level.
When you set up the Gimbal head/camera gear correctly the camera will stay level. Have heard of more than one photographer who has had his tripod topple over because the camera was on a tripod, pointing at the ground.
