Got a week and a half off, power washed the house monday and scraped the peels and spackled today, wife picked out the paint and I was ready to shoot tomorrow with my neighbors bad boy commercial paint sprayer. Forecast says rain Thursday! Glad I heard that....oh well, maybe next week. House was texture coated 20 years ago and the gray just isnt dark enough/faded for either of us. Bad thing about that texture coat is its gonna suck up the paint at $30 a gallon. Hope I can get away with 5 gallons. Single story ranch, 1250 sq feet. Double garage takes up almost 1/3 the front and its gonna get painted white as well as the trim and under the overhangs.

Preprime your raw spots and speckled areas. Otherwise you'll get bleed through and flashing. I was a painter for 15 years professionally and have painted on the side for the last 10. Generally spraying gets you about 150/200 sqft per gallon whereas brush and roll is twice that. So you should be close with 5 gallons as long as you don't need to recoat it much.

I was planning on painting some areas on my garage that I recently boxed in for a new door, but its already freezing around here.

Just curious -- I got my text-coated along time ago and after several years it developed small vertical cracks along each stud. Did that happen to you?
I don't know how to fix those.

Use oil based paints, they also make a paint specific for use in freezing temperatures. I've used it on a few jobs.

No, My text-cote was over the original sprayed stucco anyway so it was just a 2nd coat of coarser tinted stucco. Hard as F to cover with a brush or roller. Think of painting a 500 sq/ft piece of 5 grit sandpaper!

Text-cote. What is it? Sounds badass . The text coat I use comes in an aerosol can and we use it on brush guards. Cool stuff. Not too cost effective on a house. LOL
