Cant get a lift in mine either/7 ft ceiling. I didn`t build it, it was a carport before I changed it into a 16x38 ft garage. Too low of a ceiling, and too narrow ,but it is what it is. At 72, laying on my back ain`t hordes of fun anymore either !

I can relate to both you guys. My garage is only 20&x30 with 8.5 ceiling but I put a twin scissor pad lift in about 6 years ago.
Not the best pic but you get the idea. It is completely flush with the floor when not in use. I thought it was perfect for a small garage.
