Hey guys I've got a stock 5.9 magnum bottom end. I've been running a turbo for a couple of years and a piston has finally let go. I want to replace the pistons with forged ones with low enough comp to suit the turbo. Can anyone suggest some pistons or what company I should talk to. I'm in Australia and I don't know where to buy them in the states as I can't get them here.

some more info would help....like what bore....what compression height on the piston?

Stock block so I'm pretty durs the magnum slugs are 4"
I've never measured the comp height. I'd have to pull it down first

Magnum engines were never released in Australia. Imported mine. We have the LA 360s if they are the same size and comp height as the magnum then I may be able to get them here . But they stop making the LAs here in the late 70s. Thanks for the link I'll check them out
Most of the shops don't even know what the magnum is and we have no listings for any parts for them

Likely, JE can make whatever piston you want.

Brand wise, there are a few available for our 360s. Lots for stroker builds, fewer for standard stroke and even fewer low-compression off the shelf pistons suitable for a turbo build. What I've been able to find so far are;
-JE
-Ross
-Wiseco forged
-Wiseco Pro Tru: Low cost forged offering. These are priced well.
-ICON forged (UEM Pistons UEM Pistons)
-ICON FHR (Formed Head Relief) low-cost forged piston
-Mahle
-Auto Tec, I stumbled upon these a while back and they have some decent offerings/pricing.
AutoTec High Quality, Precision Manufactured pistons

I have LA 360 pistons in my 5.9 magnum. They work the same. Some people say there is a slight difference in deck height between LA and magnum blocks.

I went with auto tec "semi custom" they gave me a part number and said to order with Shannon Engineering and I would get the best price.
