Good converter for the street?

What did the cam manufacture call for? Most times they will suggest a range to get.

If it is in the budget give frank Lupo a call at dynamic converter. Give him the specs on your car and don’t look back.

Here's the stock converter stall speeds. That will give you a baseline. They seem high but I have no other information to disprove those numbers.

I called Hughes Performance and gave them my cam and car specs. You can also go on their website and submit your specs. They responded quickly.

I ended up with their 24-25 converter for my 340/727

I’m sure a custom one will work out well If you need it for street/strip

i guess in canada it limits you.. don't skimp on a converter. it will make or break your combo..

i'd call dynamic or ultimate and see what they recommend.. they aren't gonna be cheap but they are well worth it...

If I remember Dynamic has a sale around the holidays. I got mine for $695 and was told that is the sale price I believe.

So 14 inch tires 420 hp probably means wheel spins no traction? I read quite a lot but am pretty new to in the real world experience :)

Throw a set of Hoosier QTP and see how they work. Had a set of 26x9.5-14 I think it was on my dart. Worked pretty well.

I agree on the hoosiers, I had a set on a 406 sbc /92 gmc pick up. It was lowered and had a reworked by me set of offroad bars that resembled a leaflink set up. The tires were 10"x30" hoosier slicks, mild burnout, dead hooked, they held air over the winter with no tubes.
Thinking about buying a pair and trying them before mini tubing the barracuda now.

Any body know of a reputable convertor company that will fine tune a convertor from another company ??

Well thanks for the help everybody. This way to match up the correct converter is much clearer.
