Here's Sophie, we got her a month after our other Rottweiler died in her sleep. Sophie is as headstrong as they come, she only acts stupid when I'm around, she's great with our 4 and 7 granddaughters, and finally getting out of her puppy stage. First pic is her helping us paint. Second pic is when she was about 6 months old, she had been under my Dart as much as I had! Last pic is her at her finest, wondering where we're going! She doesn't eat much when I go away for more than a day, she misses me that much!

On a related note- my wife told me a lady where she works and her husband found a kitten in the road and took it home.

had a distended belly which even the vet attributed to malnutrition...

until the second x-ray. It had been shot twice.

Who the F shoots a kitten?

It's a good question..... We talk about this and similar things at work in regards to how the human race can be so harmful.... Simply put you have a heart of gold I bet and it will never make sense as to why someone would shoot a kitten....

I would have a cat now but Henry would probably give it an opportunity to go outdoors and due to a neighbor with crappy dog issue that ain't happening....

I work near Camden, I could tell you.

Since Cats are being posted, we also have 2 kitties, on the left is Buster, a tabby & white, he's about 8 years old, and on the right is Maggie a matte calico, she's only 5 months old and oddly enough she adores Cooper and actually lets him groom her, and if he is laying down she will curl up beside him.

Interesting.

I knew 99% of calico's are female.

We have 2 each male and female gray tabby but both our orange tabby cats are male.
We have a "lion colored" male that I guess technically is orange.
His name is Nougat because that's what it looks like to me.
Our Siamese mix is female.
I read recently that they are technically white!

Well, we had 2 dogs and 2 cats all are gone now, but lori just got home 5 minutes ago with this new addition....no name yet. Little sweetheart for sure.

Both blues/reds and kelpies are the sheep herder and cattle mans friends here they can do more work in a day than 2 or 3 men when it comes to herding and all they want is a scratch and food, they are extremely smart my last dog was a kelpie cross that was an unusual colour combination but again was so bright, both my wife and i still get upset when we think of her and it was nearly 12 months ago she passed.
She would nose around under the christmas tree when told and pick out her present and open it by herself all while leaving the grand kids presents alone

I looked at some pics of Kelpies, and they do look similar though the face colors were mostly black and tan on a lot of pics. I'm more or less going by what was described to us as an "Australian Blue Heeler" when we acquired him. I also heard of "Red Heelers" too, but did not know of "Kelpies" until now.

'I do know this, he is a extremely smart dog, learned general dog commands intuitively and tries to 'herd' our 2 cats when they are running around the house until a stern NO is heard! And yes out in public with him the words "pretty" and "beautiful" are used quite often when seen.
