So where is the best place to get a new original type positive battery cable ? 65 Barracuda.

That one seems a rare bird for some reason. IIRC , it had a smaller gauge tap off the side for something? You see the negatives everywhere. let us know if you find a source thats under $100!

$10!!! I cant remember what the OEM one looked like.

Option 2. The car is not at original car anyway so we can do it neatly and make it work

its very different: It has 4 taps and a splice. I think maybe the taps are not taps at all but just siamese cables under 1 sheath? Mine is so far gone from stock that its not applicable.

The extra lead from the factory cable fed power to the starter relay.

I believe the factory "crank" wire ran back towards the battery and along the cable to the starter.

It looks more like an entire harness from pictures I've seen than just a cable.

We're making an aftermarket cable look factory-ish. Lol

Hope this helps

Yes. This is a much simpler look at how it's hooked up. And pretty much what he is going to do. There was really nothing too special about the original that we can't do ourselves and make it look presentable.

old thread, I know....
I have been looking for this for the 66 and thought I found it at this site...
OE-style positive and negative battery cables for all 1965-66 Plymouth and Dodge A-Body
what I received was not as pictured.
After a few calls with the CS people they seam stumped with the difference between the pic and the part they sell but still haven't changed or removed the inaccurate photo...
Still working out if I just return or make due with the stealth post clamp replacement on the original.
