Is there some type of rubber grommet that goes around the base of the accel cable as it comes thru the firewall? The metal flange on the cable is smaller than the hole.Thanks for any education

On 73+ there is a grommet that goes on the gas pedal bracket. The cable slides through it then gets a washer and a clip to hold the cable on.
I dont remember what year they changed to this style. The earlier one attached right to the firewall. I would assume this arrangement used a grommet or a foam seal. Its been many years but the foam seal rings a bell.

There is just a foam gasket on the back of the accel padal where it attaches to the inside of the firewall,The flange on the accel cable end is a lot smaller than the firewall hole.It just looks like there should be some type of grommet/seal to fill in the difference.But maybe the foam gasket is suppose to do the job?
