Gotta be careful with AMC because you have to know what to look for to tell if it's a 304, 343, 360, 390 or 401. Didn't they have a 290 V8 also? Similar situation exists with Mopar 273/318/340/360. Time slips would be nice to confirm ET's. Needless to say, aftermarket parts are much less common than for Mopars.

A magazine did do a comparison between a Dodge Demon 340 & AMC Hornet 360, '71 or '72. 340 was faster but the 360 Hornet did pretty well.

AMC did have Torqueflites in some applications. The bellhousing is different but I never researched any more than that.
