Well that didn't take long..

Here's a picture of the rearend in my Blue heads up Duster. I bought the car used so i didn't spend the money but there's no way I would spend the money these shocks cost. Then add in the cost of double bead=lock wheels.

That's about where mine were on the sliders.

Took the car out and about half way to the shop it started pouring rain. Let me tell you, that was not good or any fun.

My shift kit shifts at 2,800 right about where I'm making power and it's not a MVB so it just does it... each time it hit second the car would step out, no windshield wipers open scoop ducking in water.... I tried to keep it in 2nd the entire way and just coast around turns.

By the time I got to the shop I had to go in the office and sit down for about 15 minutes just to let my nerves calm. I have no idea how the folks do it during drag week and power tour. I couldn't imagine doing anything over 20 MPH and even that was sketchy as hell...

At least she now safe locked up in the shop and not inside some BMW..

:steering:

Mine hook great but for some reason the new driver side spring is already sagging?

I adjusted the 2 step today and was doing some hard launches in the shop parking lot, leaving off the line lock and 2 step and now the driver side is messed up AGAIN.... it's a brand new spring...

But on the bright side She is leaving HARD!
Went up a few jet sizes on the carbs, got the AFR back down and HOT DAM, she's a runner!

Lined up next to a new Camaro on the way home just now, hit the line lock and layed into the 2 step. When the light went green, let off the button and bye bye!

:rofl::steering::thumbsup:

do you think the new spring are just settling?
Or is it needing the slider cut out and rewelding type of a situation.

:thumbsup::thumbsup: on the camaro lunch!!!

Cutting it out would fix the location of the spring eye in the slider but it wont fix the fact that the driver side is like three inches lower?

At this point, i say hammer on it and see what happens. you need that GoPro under the car to see what's going on.
Best education i have got on my suspension.

The drivers side should be lower.....don't think it 3" though.

this may be an optical illusion but, is your muffler tail pipe pointing at the driver side leaf spring???

Yeah it is. I doubt the heat is enough to mess up the spring tho and even if it was the other side sees the same heat.

Oh I'm hammering on it. The time of easing into it is over.

You should have seen the look on the guys face when the engine was bouncing off the 2 step at 2,500 and the entire car is shaking, trying to push through the line lock.

******* priceless!

I think I'm gonna put her in the air and look at that?

I have a spare set of big block bars maybe it's not even a problem in (with) the rear?

This could be some of the problem.

This is more of a question for the masses not a statement. but....
It's a stick shift car Right? I know everyone like the 02/03 spring......do you think you need a higher spring rate for a powerful stick shift car?

I'm looking at your picture that you posted above...are you using a lowering block? maybe them tires are a little bit bigger then i realize.

Auto 904.

No lowering blocks.

Tires are 29.5x10.5x15
Drag radial

No track time yet. The closest track is two and a half, three hours away and I dont have a car hauler (yet).

It's a strip car just living on the street.

My girl dont know it but we gonna get married and I figured I better finish my car while she cant say jack about my spending.

Some of the guys are wondering if the 002-003 springs were ok for you this was my old 4 speed 340 back in the late 1970’s. Here’s a couple pictures back when it ran 11.82. No sliders

I guess technically I dont own a "race car" as I dont have time slips but to me she is my race car and I'd dam sure line her up against most cars here at a stop light.

If we were neighbors I'd run against you every day and twice on sunday.

Then after what ever the out come I'd fix your welds, feed you some awesome BBQ and hand you an ice cold squirt.
