How do you adjust the vent window frame

-
The vent frames are all the same, Dart/Barracuda hardtop/convertible/Fastback
If I recall there are no adjustments on the frame. I had an alignment issue and looked.
The only thing you can try is to loosen the bolt at the front and the bottom and see if rotating the frame will help, you will not get any lift out of it, that is fixed.
The door may be out of alignment, maybe it needs to be lifted.

ahhh nope they are different. The hardtop dart, valiant and barracuda and fastbacks have a sharp tip Vs the dart valiant/barracuda convertible. Vent glass is the same on all models even the 4door and post cars. even the steel(except post and 4 door which are the same), but the chrome pot metal is different along with the rubber cushion on the tip (i used to work at McGraw glass that made the glass for 35 years) convertible is on the bottom hardtop on the top.

Wrong, That may be true for the 1st get but not the 67+
Per the 67 parts book they are the same (I assume 69 is the same)

Update: Here are photos of my dilemma passenger window Look at the forward top of the window and my driver door window on my ^9 Barracuda Convert. I would like to get the passenger window and vent frame up like the driver side window and frame. THX

I still think this is a door alignment issue. The back of the door looks to be down an 1/8" or so.
With the door hinges forward of the top of the vent window any amount of sag in the door will be noticed there.
Your hinges may be worn or the door just needs alignment.

Was this car repainted? Have the doors been off?

Was repainted years ago by previous owner. I bought new hinge pins and bushings. The problem door does slightly hit the door striker pin. Any idea on how to raise the door and hinges to raise it up?

I don't recall if you can get to the bolts with the fenders on the car. The alignment in issue here is the bolts that hold the hinge to the body.
You will want to remove the striker before making adjustments to the door. The striker holds the door closed, shouldn't be used to push the door in place.

Your pics need to show us all the door gaps first. On your RT door, need to see the front sheet metal gap from top to bottom, is it straight? Need to see the back sheet metal gap, is it straight? Need to see the top of that gap, is the sheet metal even/ level between door and rear quarter? When these are correct, then we can adjust the glass.

If it is hitting just a little on the striker, you can put a roll of paper towels on a floor jack and push up the back of the door. That’s what I did with mine. I read it on a post here somewhere & it worked well. Can’t move it too much, but it may be enough.

Looking at this again, its seems your top is out of alignment, not the glass. Look at update pic #5 and compare that to update pic #6. You should note that on the left side glass the stainless windshield moulding is pointing straight back, with about a 2" gap, to the stainless w/s moulding/ retainer. Not so on the right side. On the right side, the windshield stainless and the w/s stainless are out of alignment. The w/s and stainless attached to your top need to be adjusted to your glass. Close the gap with the top.

Roger that great info. THX

.

That's what I was thinking too, especially if the top has been replaced.

Is the bottom of the door parallel with the top of the rocker panel? With rebuilt hinges I would start there and adjust as needed.

You probably know the striker pin is adjustable as it threads into a floating nut held inside a cage on the back of the B pillar. You do NOT want the weight of the door resting on the striker pin while driving. The flanged bearing surface of the pin is only the single thickness of the B pillar. Maybe18ga. Over time the sheet metal fatigues and breaks, with the door usually jammed closed. I guess with a convertible you could enter/exit Like Bo and Luke Duke.

Ok I'm reading the initial post again.

With the door open is the door glass going to the top of the frame?
When rolled up the top of the glass should be flush with the top of the frame.
If not the up stop may need adjustment.
If it is and you still have a gap that is most likely a door adjustment.

Alan
THx........ Yes window glass seats into the top of the vent window frame. I thought if the vent window frame could go higher that would help the window. I did notice my upper door hinge has a goughe on the s metal catch in the hinge. Mt door hits the jamb post. I bought a replacement lower hinge to see if it helps. I'll do that in the spring.

Yes. My vent frame tops are flat.

My drivers side wouldnt go all the way to the top after gutting and reinstalling. I loosed 3 bolts and the 1 allen key and gave the top of vent frame a whopping with my hand. Went down enough to bring glass close enough for now.

I would wait till the door is back on the car to adjust the frame and windows

Everything was reinstalled and loosely tightened up. Leading front edge of window was down approx 1/2". Up stop(plastic piece)was hitting the hook on the rear guide. There is room there for adjustment but I got what I could. So I removed the plastic upstop from the glass and checked window again. No problem going up without stop lol. So I figured if "glass wont go up" , the vent frame "has to come down". So I loosened all adjustments on vent frame(4 total). And gave it a swat. Went down enough for now, just a slight gap. Fine tuning later, I want this thing mounted and outra my way lol.
There is a "up" stop and a "down" stop. The 'up" is near your tube of goo.

I thought the convertible vent frame was different from non convert. It is flat at the top vs more pointed? I have been wrong before!
Early models were different. hardtops and barracudas were pointy, convertibles were flat both these are 66 , barracuda on left, dart convertible on right. 67 and up looked the same to me, But I don't have a hardtop or convertible near me to double check

all the door hinge bolts are accessible without removing the fender, but you do have to take the kick panel out in the interior

looks like fun and it looks like you are on the right track. I agree with hanging the door, adjusting the door gaps then adjusting the window track after the door is where you want it. Be patient, I adjusted mine waited a while looked at it again, it still didn't kook right(door gaps) did it again :)
