1970 Dodge Dart

Thanks!

It was a low mileage barn find bike, 1800 miles, but had been used as a farm "fence runner." In 2015 before the restoration I was test driving it after some work and the test drive turned into a long ride out in the country. On the way back the rear tire had a blowout at about 55. I remember losing control, regaining control, then waking up in an ambulance. I had a helmet on but still suffered a bad concussion. The bike was totaled but I had replacement cost coverage on it. I got a little over $3200 because of the low miles so I was bale to buy a touring scooter and parts to restore the bike.

That picture is from 2 days after I got it put back together from the paint booth. Me and a buddy drove our old bikes out to Colorado. Mine made it 1000 miles exactly before the right piston developed a dime sized hole in it about 100 miles from home. That was 2017. I have a whole parts bike so I put that engine in it, ignored the sound of a bad timing chain, took it for a ride, and the timing chain broke about a mile from home.

So now it sits in my cramped garage while I work on my Dart. It even creased the back of my hood last time I jacked the rear end up not looking what I was doing. :BangHead:

This bike is going to be the death of me!
