distributor nylon shaft collar where to buy??

and roll pin 15 lower 48
Hi SSBA,

I appreciate the offers on a metal collar. Thank you. I wanted to also start this thread because i am sure theres other folks who have or are dealing with this.

My other options besides taking a replacement slant six nylon one from the "help" section and cutting the gear off, which i have actually done in a pinch years ago, is i super glued my broken one back together and gave it to my machinest friend at work to copy out of aluminum. I will take a caliper to the dizzy shaft tomorrow to get a shaft diameter, mebbe we can start from that point

Why am i not surprised mopar doesnt sell a replacement for these anymore. They really could care less about our old stuff, rather sell us a fugly 4 door dodge charger , with tacked on **** harkening back to the good ole days, that their MoPar division would rather forget. I could not even buy distributer recurve springs from mopar performance?!? Discontinued. WTF!!! I had to buy mr gasket ones, but still, come on !!

Is there somebody out there that makes a ready made aluminum replacement with a roll pin , and not a set screw that can come loose. I see these metal ones on aftermarket distributors all over evilbay.

Matt

Good luck the nos are as brittle and break also. DO NOT USE the set screw ones at the hardware store or online, they limit/restrict the oil up to the shaft bushings and cause failures. That is why most of the distribs bottom housing are fluted. I use Metal ones I had made up and attach with a roll pin. The slant idea is ok but...…..why? When I rebuild them I just chuck the old ones usually have a crack. If you buy a nos bushing set they come with them, but again 50+ year old nylon. If you want a metal one pm me I sell them as a kit, bushing, shim and roll pin. 15 lower 48
