65 Barracuda rear end suspension restoration Stance, springs, shocks?

I have been plugging away at my 65 Cuda for a bit. First rebuilt the front suspension with a kit from PST.....Dirty, hard work, but necessary and it looks good. Just jacked up the rear end to evaluate...aside from being a little dirty, everything looks great including the rear brake (pads), springs etc. I am thinking of adding a little back end lift. I think the stock Barracuda sits kind of low. Also could be 50 year old stock springs sagging. It looks like new springs might be in order and not too expensive. Maybe specify a 1" lift? Other than new shocks, what else should I consider? Take out the rear axle, clean and paint? I understand that a "different than stock" rear end can make a big difference in performance, so I will go to the drivetrain section of FABO to learn about that. Unless you have an opinion that you would like to share.
As always....Thanks in advance

Here is a picture of my car as I found it with the original stance....Now that I look again, it doesn't seem too low.
