I'm looking for some input on solid roller lifters for my 499 stroker. What brands are good and ones to stay away from. Race only motor and stock bore, thanks guys

I used the Lunati cam and lifters in my 440 six pack motor. Worked great! No issues. It was hard to get the end play set to .007 to .010. Stock timing cover kept flexing, so I couldn't tell where the end play was. I had even welded a plate to the front of the timing cover, then that hit the water pump, had to grind it down for clearance. Finally got it close, then it worked fine.

Wow that was interesting. Did you ever figure out what was causing it

Timing cover is thin metel, and it kept flexing. Better off using a cast aluminum cover that is solid. Cam button on the roller cam has to be clearanced to the back of the timing chain cover.

Whichever lifters have the pressurized rollers. MRL used to sell them but he went out of business. I forget who made them........Lunati, maybe? Maybe someone will chime in who remembers. Sorry, my memory ain't what it used to be.

Ya I've seen MRL come up in my searches but out of business. Pressurized roller and also oil through pushrods correct ?

I believe so on both counts, yes. But he was getting them from another source. I think I remember it being Lunati.....that's the part I am unsure about.

I seem to remember MRL selling them as BAM. I thought that was the initials of who made them. I’m thinking Brad Miller, but I could be totally wrong. Kim

I have a set in my 505, they are Bam, and have pressurized oil to the wheel, but not the pushrods----------
