so im at the point of my build where i need to get a controller.... its the last major part i need....
Its a 70 duster 6.4 hemi, 274cam, tti headers,x pipe 3" magnaflows to the bumper, full return fuel system threw fuel rails (stock injectors).... magnum t56

So im gunna get everything dyno tuned once its ready to fire up, but what engine controller to get???

I have had my eyes on modern mopar extreme 6.4 engine controller... but i called, it only runs a signal wire for fuel pump.... i have to run my own switch for radiator fans, and run a voltage regulator for alt.... and it appers to be a 03-05 ecu from pix, so that means it has to have a custom harness....
Its 2700$

Other one ive had my eye on, and looks better and better, is the mopar performance 392 engine controller...from what ive read, this one runs signal wires for fuel pump, radiator fans, and controlls alt... ecu is 2016 style, and harness is all factory mopar....
Its 1800$....

Whats your guys imput??
Thanx

holley efi for sure. hp ecu will do mostly everything you want. only difference between hp and dominator ecus is input outputs count and the dominator ecu is a grand more in cost.

.........or Megasquirt. What makes you think the fan controllers have to be integrated with the fuel/ engine ECU? For years people have run fans with stand alone thermostats

I am pretty sure that MMX gets the ECU from Hotwire and the harness. My harness came from Hotwire and I went to junkyard and got 05 ECU for my 5.7 for $75. Call Hotwire and see what they say as far as options. They are very helpful. I am pretty sure you will have to have sending units for your particular guages. It’s all gonna cost $$$. Seems a lot of people have had good luck with mega squirt on their swaps. A friend just did the Mopar performance ECU and harness with good comments 6.4 w727. My harness has fuel, alt, ac compressor

Hard to read sorry the 09 ECU you need is 475 you can get from salvage and harness is $1100

www.hotwireauto.com Has wiring for guages. Go to tech page Hemi install. This is who I used and have been happy with them. They, unlike others won’t sell you something you don’t need. They told me what to look for to get used ECU to save me some money. MMX will gladly spend yours for you.

Efi source gold box. It’s plug and play for 12-1300. You will have to run a cable throttle body or an 03-04 ram apps.

i dont know. i dont have knock or vvt mds on my engine. you can go to holley.com and they have a nice break down as you select your setup individually.

The Holley is like $495.00 does it come with all the knock, o2,and other sensor. If so it seems to be a good deal

I must have looked wrong stuff when browsing.
that is the harness for gen3. you still need the hp ecu. its around 1400 for a complete plug n play holley hp setup harness ecu. you can use stock factory sensors as i am doing that. harness needs no mods just plugs in to existing sensors. load a stock gen3 hemi tune file and adjust to your needs or autotune to your needs.

I went with the Mopar factory setup, It has all the immissions turned off, It's unlocked so it can be tuned with a HP tuners, works on 2013 to 2016? engines. I haven't had any problems with it yet, and haven't had any tuning done on it yet. I am going to change to a lower Tstat and reprogram when the fans come on and off, don't care for the 210 or 215 Tstat in it now, and fans coming on at 225 is a bit too warm for my taste. I ran the pedal relearn on it and the response is nice now. I do plan on getting it custom tuned, but not worried about it ATM. I have a few pics of it in my photo garage on the site here. mounted the comp on the pass side fender.

I think i may get the mopar performance 6.4 engine controller kit.... i like it runs the alternator, radiator fans and fuel pump signals... plus if its sn unlocked, even better!!

So if i get this controller, will it start up ok with a cam and headers?? Or will i need a start tune, and if so, how do i get one??

Im gunna dyno tune the car once its up n runnin.... the shop uses hp tuners

So questions - what controller did you go with? I have used EFI Source with Zietronix wide band for self tuning. Had to use a LS type throttle body, adapter (sold by EFI source) DBC system. Worked very well with my last swap, but would like to know if there are other systems?
