How can I correct loose, sloppy steering on a 1967 Barracuda with power steering. It is to the almost scary to drive.

Easiest way is to have someone lightly turn the steering wheel and methodically look at all parts of the steering linkage including the box and the shaft connecting it to the steering wheel. The engine will need to be running for a power steering vehicle. It's usually everything adding up. Make sure you look for movement of the sector shaft exiting the steering box. A little movement there can add to a lot in the steering wheel.

Mostly the ball joints and rod ends too have too much ware in them. Need to get a rebuilt kit

Had the same problem with my 68 cuda . I checked everything under the car all was tight. Then tried to adjust the steering box no luck . Bit the bullit and got a borgeson box from summit. The car now drives like a new car.

I replaced all my front suspension parts and it didn’t clean up as much as I wanted. I had two other issues: the bolts holding the steering box to the frame were loose and my 10+ year old front tires were bad. Now it drives good except for the typical lack of road feel on the mopar power steering. Going to do the shim mod on the power steering this winter to try & correct that.
