I just wanted to congratulate my son Jason Lee (@Prorac2 ), on his first engine refresh.

1983 318. Out of a Ramcharger. Good runner, but a severely neglected plow truck engine.

Rob, @RustyRatRod , along with @TrailBeast , and @nm9stheham, and many others helped immensely with help and information.

RustyRatRod helped us choose the cam. It's a 214/224, .444/.466, installed and degreed in at a 105 ICL.

I taught Jason how to degree a cam, lap valves, measure valve spring height, and install bearings on this engine.

We had a lot of fun. And he learned a lot.

Geoff @cosgig hooked us up on more parts than I can even begin to remember.

I apologize if I left anybody out. Everyone on this board has been like family. Thank you.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. Thank you all for being part of that village. I'm so proud of the young man Jason is becoming, and all of you are part of that.

Thank you, for everything. Eric

This has been a fantastic build. This is true magazine material. I am proud to have been a small part of it. All of this with his dad and granddad. How much more special could that have been?

The Thrush hat ain't bad either! :)

Is there a build thread on this anywhere? I would love to take a look/read. Thank you for spending time with your son like that, it is so very important.

I agree with all of the above. It takes a village to help nurture our young folks nowadays, and the many fine members here have done just that. Jason is such a smart, dedicated and personable young man, honors himself and his entire family, and does his best at everything he does and it shows! Congratulations Jason, You and your dad and grandpa have done an outstanding job on your car. Now, if Winter would just make an early exit this year, you can get down to the business of whooping up on Dad’s Valiant!!

That young man has done something so very few take interest in now. Bring a classic to life. I can only imagine the way he felt when it first fired up. A great sense of pride comes to mind.
Congratulations to all 3 of you.
Job well done

Nice hoodie, my kind of town, want for nothing except peace and quite. LMAO!!!!

For sure bud. We plan on doing a lot of cruising this summer.

We still have a lot of carb tuning and timing to work on. And finishing the rest of the car. LOL. But it’s on the downhill slide now. LOL

Thank you everyone for the kind words. ever since I joined this board it’s been nothing but help and support and I just want everyone to know what that means to my grandfather father and I. Being on this board has been amazing I look at you guys like a second family. This whole project with my grandfather my dad and i has been a big learning experience for us and I’m glad you were all here to see it.
Thank you a body family.
