Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 EFI

First drive nice. No fuel odors, easy first start. Transformation! Time will tell. Engine sounds quieter and happy.

100 miles city driving. Perfect. John worked on other stuff. Plan 400 mile weekend. 200 freeway then PCH back. Will report back.

500 plus miles. Flawless. Need to learn new fuel tank and how to be sure that vacuum advance is working on freeway for increased range.

In case you didn't know, You can watch the timing on the digital gauge display. It will increase with RPM depending on the settings you programmed such as 35* all in by 3000rpm.

This looks awesome, no reason for buying a sniper or fitech anymore when a true MPI is this affordable.
Tell us more when you get more miles on it.

The fact that this comes complete with the distributor and an affordable sump system it looks like a real winner. No need for return fuel lines and can keep the mechanical fuel pump.

Wow this thread has really got me excited for the Pro-Flo. I am about to install an FiTech as I’ve done with many other projects but mpfi has it’s obvious benefits. What I don’t read is anyone using the Pro Flo is how do they run? I’m big about performance, how is throttle response and power vs your previous setups?

One the guys here posted his Big Block running the Pro Flo and he said it was great. I'm hoping someone with a small block running a Pro Flo will chime in.

I'm just curious to know if it will fit under the hood of a Duster. The intake is taller, but the throttle body is shorter than a carburetor.

if you have a look at my earlier Post #58 in this thread I’ve provided some info to help regarding comparative height of this unit. I’ve still got a way to go with the build of my car before it’s running but here’s another photo of my ProFlo4.

Post 36. With the drop down air cleaner, no clearance issues. Power Bulge hood on the Coronet.

Just stumbled upon this after seeing an ad in summit racing catalog.
Would be just what the doctor ordered as I’ve always wanted to do fuel injection but was hoping a good MPI set up would come out.

The distributor opening is a let down but seems fixeable although Edelbrock should get that fixed like tomorrow.

I’m already running a single plane intake , a hemi hood scoop and a fuel cell with an in tank pump (stealth pump.)
Not sure if I’d need a different pump but I do have a return regulator.
I’m pushing 450 hp at the crank in a 360 LA, 4 Spd.
I have a high lift solid cam and M/T rocker covers.

Would be nice to hear about horsepower/ acceleration gains as opposed to carbed motors.

Great Cold start and idle improvements are awesome but throttle response and HP gains are more my concern.
Also constant toying with set up parameters is not my idea of fun.
Are there any limits on cam size for this to work properly?

I’m very close to pulling the trigger on one of these.

I went with Mega Squirt 3 On a stroked 440 making 600 plus HP. I have never looked back! Love EFI

Nice! I was looking at the MegaSquirts but it seemed like it could end up more expensive, but at least you can customize pretty much everything. What did you do about distributor timing? Seems like 440's get more EFI love than small blocks. Even the B blocks are left out in the cold.

When you look at the all in price not so much different. Even with the kits you have a lot of 2nd and 3rd tier costs that no one ever adds to the "cost" of the kit. If you look close at pix down on frame rail you will see the coil packs. And yes they are LS ! No distributor at all ! Had to make crank trigger and a couple other sundry parts. There is enough you tube and forum material you can sort out the how to relatively easy. Biggest issue for me was sorting out kick down! It self learns and has made the car way more consistent than I am. I initially had a serious issue with breaking loose on big end going into third. You can readily see it on the laptop. With old setup I would have been messing with rear suspension etc etc. to solve. Simply put I think the new EFI kits are amazing and as long as you get a good one you are fine regardless of brand. The-positive change in my E body as a result is what drove me to stuff a gen three in an old Demon I have. I have a seperate build thread with a bunch of pix for that build here on FABO. I try not to focus on the E body on this forum as it is FABO! And most of the E body forums are dominated by purists so my hybrid Cuda is of little interest. It has a 70 nose, 71 sides and 73 tailights! Roll bar and EFI. I wish I had a dollar for every time I take it to a car show and had to answer how could you do that to a Cuda.

Tell them it looks better than their old stock junk !!!
