on the edelbrock carbs it has the pcv valve port on the front and a port on the back for power brakes. Can these be reversed? No power brakes so can I plug the front port and use the rear for pcv valve? Thanks

Edelbrock does not suggest running the pvc to the back of the carb.
They state, pvc to the front, power brakes to the back.
Do as you wish.

They are both ported below the throttle blades. I assume their concern lies with fuel being drawn in at the rear port and diluting the engine oil.

If there is vacuum for the brakes at the rear port, there should be enough vacuum to suck the oil vapors into the manifold. Am I missing something else?

I'm reaching here, maybe raw fuel into the hose at low vacuum and g force pushing it that direction?

If you plumb to the rear, my experience is; at idle, the dry air piles up in the back cylinders making them slightly lean and it won't idle right. That is why the front port dumps right in the vicinity of the low-speed discharge ports.

Where does the secondary get It's vacuum when the throttle isn't open?

The holes are below the throttle blades, so it seems that both ports are open to manifold vacuum at all times.

I'll buy into that AJ

What's even worse is if you plumb the PCV into where the vacuum tree is supposed to go, on top of #8 intake runner,IIRC. Then that cylinder goes very lean at idle and makes an awful stink out the back. Hyup, I tried it.Just long enough to figure out that wasn't gonna work. The 292cam idles rough enough without adding more crazychit to it.
The 292/292/108 was my first cam in this street iteration, and the biggest I ever ran, and I had a lotta learning to do, in a short time.It came out before the end of the first summer. Not because I couldn't tune it, but because she don't play nice with 3.55s, and 3.55s was all I was willing to run. She made plenty of power, it just wasn't where I needed it to be.
