The BAH HUMBUG thread, whats wrong with Christmas

Just too boring for me anymore. No one in the family feels the need to exchange gifts anymore. We get gift cards for the nieces, nephews, and grandkids, but that’s it. Wife and I don’t even exchange gifts. I kinda miss the way it was 20, 30, 40 years ago. Piles of gifts under the tree, the expectation, and the ripping open of all the gifts and then a big turkey dinner with all the family. There’s just no excitement to it anymore. Plus missing all the people that have passed on, sorta takes the fun out of it. Just all part of getting old I guess.

Family is just not what it use to be. After my parents passed, it’s almost impossible to get everyone together. I bought my two grandsons one present, and gave them money for their savings account. They already, like most kids, have so many toys, you can’t hardly walk through the house. I keep telling my son, don’t spend any money on me. If I want it or need it, I got it. Time with them is all I care about.
