Finaly lined up against a new challenger!

He lost. I was fully off the throttle before he got around me.

Stoplight racing is won or lost at the light.
I'm not trying to do 100+MPH. If I out 60' ya that's it. There's no room to pull. I'm already off the throttle and coasting up to the next light.

Hell, I dont care if he had 3 plug wires off and a fat chick in the passenger seat. It feels good!

Hey! What was he doing with @splitty 's girlfriend?

:poke:

Absolutely correct. Stop light wars are ruled by traction.

Yeah lol that TV street racing is BS too bad a lot of people think it is legit...all choreographed

All the drama is bs and the roads are closed down but those guys still go out for the real cash days and and run from real cops.

It’s a long video but this is real street racing.

Full on run what u can buy race cars with not many rules ---

I've seen a lot of your posts and some I don't even disagree with but right now I want you to post a real picture of your race car or bow out.

Show us your car?

I'm just trying to get over someone in Tahoe out driving their car when I'm sittin here in Arizona with 4 inches of frozen snow on the streets.
That's just messed up man.:D

There is some snow in Tahoe.. just not much at the moment.

Still no word from Rusty Grizwald?

I'm thinking he's the new YR....

Gotta take the dog to the vet tomorrow. (Dam dog is always sick, I think there was a recal on him that I missed?) Maybe I'll post a pic of my buddy in the car.

The dam DOT slicks are almost worn out. 100-150 miles? Traction comes at a very high cost I guess? (I'm sure the spool dont help there life on the street.)

@1969cuda

Love those wheels, just couldn't afford them and not sure if they would last on the street.

I opted for the budget ones.

Wanted the black and silver, but the wait time was 4 months at the time. Oh well.

Honestly there aren't many new cars that will run stop light to stop light with a decent built old hot rod.

The new Challenger is what 4500ish pounds and outside the Demon and Hellcat are 485 hp at most. Not really a good hp to weight ratio.

And I'll add, there aren't many old cars that will run stop light to stop light, or 1/4 mile, or top end, with the new cars IF the old car is factory stone stock.

Forget the Demon, forget the Hellcat, I'll even forget the Scat Pak, just give me a new R/T and I'll pretty much clean the show room floors up in '68, '69 & 70.

Regardless, it's fun to race, and more fun to win it. But if we put a 5500 8" converter, 4.56 gears, some super sticky drag radials, all behind a 408 stroker in a 3200 lbs a body, then beat a bone stock new car in a 0-60 race, ..... well...……….. LOL

I agree these new cars are stupid fast. I have drove and rode in all kinds of old muscle cars. There was 3 that where just ridiculous stupid fast. One of them was a 1936 dodge brothers pickup 426 hemi omg it was life changing! But for the most part stock old cars won't hold a candle to new ones. Hell even the new v6s are fast as crap. The new mustangs with the turbo are quick. My buddy has a 2014 Camaro with a v6 5speed its probably just as fast a a stock 340 duster or dart maybe faster. The 5.0 Mustangs and the new camaros and the challengers are quick. They are efficient also. Too bad there so darn heavy lol

Yeah, he never had a chance. I never said it was fair.

Pretty much nothing has a chance against my car 0 to 60 but that was my plan all along.

The only thing I realy have to fear is Tesla's and they cant even rev the engine so how do I know if they wanna race? Also I dont think most of there owners even know they are that quick.

Also, watch for a mom that's in a hurry in the Trackhawk Jeep. All wheel drive, no spinning, might be a tough out in the stop light war...…. :)

go to 1:00 minute in video

I wonder what those 392's would do with slicks and no traction control? Seems they are tied to the wheelspin. But beating a new bought "hot rod" with one YOU built makes all the difference. :D I bet that guy was wasn't pissed, but was stoked to actually see a car that could stay in front of him to 70! Thats when a street race is won, not a half mile down the road when his OD catches your 4.88 gears. When I raced, I was never bummed when I lost unless I missed a shift or missed some money afterwords (like never as I rarely bet...thats illegal!)
But please keep it safe. :steering:Street racers down here are always killing bystandards. Not cool. The new Mustangs would make me think twice, never know if they have the supercharged coyote in them. Probably 500 lbs lighter than a Challenger?

11.90's with traction. Most that I have seen with factory tires run lower 12's, and every one of them have wheel spin/traction issues giving a bad 60 ft, and that's even on a decent prepped track.
