I think they are (Au) Gold, and may have a jeweled bearing made of garnet. So its a 1 jewel movement. I think the last line is talking about opto-magnetic recording (laser/Hard drive disk?) and maybe how garnet can be used instead of ferrite oxide, or rust. when your talking nanometers deep, thats pretty small, like powdered size. Maybe just a new old recording tape formulation. Maybe they got it better than the Old TDK MA-X? :wtf:
