Not a good reason to cut corners.
What if it didnt have a noticeabke leak and dumped coolant into crancase? Cost of damage by far outweighs the price of a gasket set.
I feel your pain, working with a bad back sucks.
I was laid up and had to get my 2.2 turbo finished. I used a shop crane to pull and replace head.
Its a horrible job with a sciatica flare up. I do this crap for a living, bad back or not i need to get the work done.
