I am very familiar with VAPAM. I'm sure your AG friends told you VAPAM is a restricted use material and is highly toxic.
This is not an option legally. Roundup is the only material I would suggest. Safe, legal and will do the job without a reentry period. don't get me wrong, VAPAM is good, but it kills the soil and is very dangerous for the untrained.
