la block 771 hp N/a wins dyno challenge

-
I guess my history is messed up then.
I thought the 89-91 were still LA's and in 82 the chev rocker arm mag's were born. With no fuel pump eccentric on the cam and no oil feed passage thru the block for the rocker arms.

IHRA MADE A RULE THAT THEY NEED A DIAPER...........

Like I said above our track manager made the rule. He sells diapers at cost to us. They are heat resistant and VERY thin. Mine lay right on the header. He also offers a cheaper one that isn't heat proof.

You can see mine in this picture.

92 or 93 was the first year for the magnum engine and the Early blocks were drilled for LA heads. I would have to look it up to find out when the blocks were not drilled anymore

For that competition was an R5p7 engine not allowed because those make that kind of hp.

I have a 95 5.9 engine (together) and can't remember the holes being drilled, also have a bare block I'll see if holes are there, I'll check what year also. First one had the balancer with the separate pully, second the one piece, so it'll be newer. Both have early side mounts

Here is the link that shows the block mods that were done to the early 360 magnum block.

I too didn’t know the early magnums were drilled for la rocker arms. Untill I read it on here I think.
