Soldering irons are cheap, you can get one for $3 at big box electronics store on sale, but for a nice one, you can pay upwards of $150. For $56, you get alot for your money with this Ebay station: "Instant on" (~10 second heat up with temp readout) soldering iron with 6 different tips, and a 700W hot air rework gun with 4 nozzles. Also has fully adjustable independent heat settings for both iron and gun a well as real time temperature sampling and compensation for iron temp. Hit a big component and the iron will dynamically raise temp to tip to maintain set temperature. Hot air gun senses when its in the holster and turns off heater and lowers air. Hot air is great for removing multiple lead components as well as chips with hidden solder pads (BGA) and the temp control is good for reflow of same components (220-250C for crap lead free solder). If you do hobby solder of electronics, may be a nice addition. If your a pro, probably a little light duty. Ill still use the ol HF 1700W heat gun to preheat the boards but this will give me some temp control. Hot air works great for harvesting components off old boards for your passive parts bins. USA denotes US warehouse stocking only....

Have you used one of these for any period of time? Looks really attractive, just wondering how durable it is
