[WANTED] 1965 plymouth valiant door

Have both 63 doors.
need little rust repair but solid.

I do have a 65 Val convertible door, but its in Florida and still on the car. I will soon be selling the entire car as it is too much for me to work on. I have other vehicles that take up my money.

Aren't 65 Dart, Valiant, and Barracuda all the same doors? I am pretty sure that they are...at least in the HT If your glass is good, wing vent frame, window regulator and etc are good? If you are looking to ship a door, it can get pricey. Buying just the door core saves a bunch of shipping costs. I do have one that is already stripped to the core. Fastener ships station to station (store to store) for a reasonable price. sgrip65.

Doors are generally the same dimensionally from '63-'66 but there are differences. Convertible doors have a secondary alignment thingy on them that non-convertible doors don't have. However the minor differences don't mean you can't use other year/or even Dodge dart doors on your '65 signet convertible.

Indeed. the alignment "thingy." I am not sure if the wing vents are the same or not. Anyway, stripped down to the core, the same. I used a 65 Valiant 2dr HT door on my 65 Dart. Lined right up. There is a difference in the door locks, however, with the 66 Door having a different door lock opening than the 65. Best. sgrip65
 
To confirm what has been said and provide a clear summary, 64 and 65 Dart, Valiant & Barracuda 2 door hardtops all use the same door shell. The 66 is the same except for the exterior lock cylinder hole so if you are willing to use the larger lock cylinder the 66 door fits 64 & 65. The 63 door shell differs in the door mounted latch/striker opening. The 63 door can be made to fit by grinding the latch opening larger and re-drilling one of the three holes to match a 64/65 striker. Everything else is an exact match. Also, as has been mentioned, the vent wing assembly is different for the convertible but goes right into any of the door shells. The convertible alignment "thingy" can also be added to any door after drilling two tiny screw holes.
