I purchased a new set of hood mounted turn signal indicators for my 68 Barracuda. They come with a male bullet connector on them that are to connect to another harness wire that connects to the bulkhead connector for each side. Does anyone know where I can find the correct wire for each side and how would I connect it to the bulkhead connector?

Thanks all!

Check Year One, Part Number KJ220 - description: "Turn signal indicator wire for 1966-1972 A-body models that require a 29-1/2" long wire." $49.99. Is this what you need?

If your car came equipped with A01 option then the pigtail bullet connectors are there as pictured. There is an extension harness that runs up through the hood pockets. You will have a hard time finding some specific ones but run a piece of string or wire up through and measure how long then search for that length. Or just build your own with 18awg black. There are also nylon clips that hold them at the rear of the hood and at each run out to the lamps. I believe the originals were one piece but the aftermarket ones have a shorter lead off the lamp. The clips are available from R/T specialties.

The part number is for the socket and short lead wire for the indicators. I looked at the rest of the offered wiring but didn't see the wire from the bullet connector to the bulkhead connector offered. Thank you..

I have an original set with the nylon hangers but not the extension wires that run from the bullet connectors, how do they wire into the bulkhead connector? I do have a wiring diagram so I know where they attach just not sure how to make the actual connection.

If you are referencing the bulkhead bullets, they are double crimped in with the front wire harness that feeds the headlights and front lamps. Just pull the front light bulkhead connector and pop out the black/yellow trace and black/green trace and re-crimp with new pigtails you make and new packard connectors. Factory A01 cars had this already. Alternately get a new front light harness that Year One sells that have these.

Do you happen to know what size Packard connectors I will need and the size of the bullet connectors?

Rewind!

Do you need extension from lamp bullet male to existing bulkhead bullets female or something different?

My new M&H under hood wiring harness I bought from a Year One had them on it already.

My 69 harness did as well. I am confused by the OP though due the fact most aftermarket lamps have short leads that do not reach all the way down the hood channels. So you have to add an extension which can be made non stock or bought with male female ends that are factory crimped.

The new indicators I bought have the socket to the bullet connector, what I need is the wire and connectors that will take me from the male bullet connector to the bulkhead connector for both sides.

What I need are the extensions because as you stated the lead that is on the light will not reach the bulkhead connector.

Do you have the short leads and female bullets at the firewall from the bulkhead connector?

If yes then measure the length extension you need and search for that. They are out there and have male bullets on one end and female bullets the other. AMS obsololete comes to mind and others. Or make your own from black 18awg with standard male/female bullets from any parts store. To make them look more authentic remove the plastic cover and put a layer or four of some black heat shrink tube to cover the crimp connector to about 1” length.

Here is what the factory stock ends looks like if it matters. If you locate an extension harness it will be the same. If it does not matter to you then any bullet connector will work.

The car did not come with the A01 option so no, I do not have the connectors at the bulkhead connector.

Ok so the engine side bulkhead is standard male packard Mopar. Get a couple new ones and do like I said in post #6. Make the pigtails long enough to reach near the top edge of the cowl and re-crimp the pigtails with the existing front signal light wires. Black/green trace and black/yellow trace.

Correction black/tan trace. Not black/yellow trace.
