I installed a new set of courtesy lights today not oem but look good and should work.

I looked at those but found them for a single wire chassis grounded application. Did you reuse the OEM 2 wire bulb socket in the new fixture? Solder a ground wire to the new 1 wire socket/fixture?

have not installed them yet! but will solder a ground to it..

I can answer that. These are tag lamp fixtures for step bumpers on 80s 90s pick up trucks. That's why the shade cover on lens forcing light in one direction. Might still be available at most part stores.
