The rod that comes off of my latch bracket only goes about half way to the mirror bracket. Is there another piece of the rod I'm missing or something? I found the rubber tips that say they go on the end of the rod and it doesn't look like any of the visors I've seen have any rod on them.

The bar on the hinge looks to be the right length. The visit itself takes up the remaining length to the mirror bracket

I got some visors and there's a pretty big gap between the visor and the bracket at the mirror. Sure seems like there should be another rod coming out of the visor that the rubber cap goes on?

Any pictures of convertible visors in place would be helpful.

You may have that visor pushed too far onto the hanger rod. Visor doesn't cover all of the rod at hanger end.

Even if that's the case, the metal sleeve that's inside the visor is an inch or 2 from the end. Does it need to be moved inside the visor so the rubber cap has something to connect to?

Hopefully someone can take a picture of theirs for me.

The arms don't look right on yours.
See how there is a bend in the arms in these pics ?
You might have the wrong parts.

I have a 65 Dart, and only have the brackets right now.
So I can't tell you exactly. Haven't crossed that bridge yet.
From the looks of the pics, it doesn't look like they do.

So here's your answer.
These are for 63-66 convertible A-body's.
They push into the ends of the visors.
They do not use the rubber tips, like I'm sure you have seen.
The rubber tips are for hard top cars. These are what you need for convertible.
I believe the skinny side pushes into the visor.
Found these on EBay.

A lot of things did change between 65 and 66. The hangers in the original post look just like 67 type, No extra little offset. This may be correct for 66. The rust on the rod pretty much tells how much of that rod was exposed.

Redfish made a great point, on how far the visor should push onto the rod. Hopefully you caught that.
Plus the changes between 65 & 66. Maybe those are correct for your car.
Both solid points.

They work. I think I should have the bent rods. I may try to put a bend in mine while I watch for some others, but they will work as is.

You could try bending the rods. I have found most every rod from kick down linkage to the signal wand is high carbon steel, like drill rod. Breaks before bending.
