Spend hundreds of dollars on a hood and hundreds of dollars having it painted and end up the scoop pointing the wrong way!
I spray canned the "Demon scoop" on my 73 Duster.
Turned out great and looked the same when I sold it as it did the day I did it.
FYI Krylon 'Tough Rust" semi-flat is a dead ringer for the color used on factory Mopar brackets, suspension components and such.

I really can't believe we are really talking about using a roller to paint the hood of a car here.
Hanging the hood decreases the chance of dust settling in your paint as it dries. It does cause a problem when painting metallics but we aren't concerned about that here.
We painted my steel hood matte black using a cheap HF gun and Rustoleum satin black cut with thinner. The gun and paint were less than $50 if I recall correctly.
