I had terrible experiences trying to put a Retrosound Redondo radio in my 65 Dart. I ordered the radio from Retrosound through Amazon and it came missing parts. I returned it to Amazon and purchased another one. This one came without chrome knobs/buttons. So I ordered a set of chrome knob/buttons directly from Retrosound and they didn't fit. Turns out the radio was not a Redondo model but another cheaper one. So I installed the radio and got a return authorizations for the knobs/buttons. After sending them in, Retrosound refused to honor the return so they kept the parts and gave me back nothing. They claimed the parts I had returned were used and scratched. They were unused and unopened. What a rip off.

Which vendor was yours through? I just looked on the Amazon sight and saw that there were versions sold by Retrosound, and something called Retro Manufacturing. Don't know what the difference is. There were lots that said they were from Retrosound for $349, while the "Retro Manufacturing" one listed for $344.

I bought a Retrosound stereo that I put in my '71 Chevy C-10. I bought mine through Crutchfield and had absolutely no issues. Crutchfield supplied the knobs and faceplate to match my application at no charge. I was surprised that the knobs actually matched the other factory knobs for headlights, wipers, and lighter.

Mine was the "Hermosa" model with built-in Bluetooth and USB connection. Other than getting the shafts adjusted (which wasn't too bad actually) I didn't have any issues with the stereo or the install.

Retrosound and Retromanufacturing are the same company. Now that the radio is installed, it works great. I just didn't like the sloppy service and BS.

Be careful buying on Amazon, there's companies who sell fakes through them.

I have heard of horror stories in reviews on amazon of different products purchased. Was looking to buy a welders hood thru them. Several reviews on that hood said it looked used, missing parts etc. Like repackaged ****. I do only ebay now for odd stuff like that.

Jeff Bezo doesnt care about that **** either, the dudes worth billions of dollars. Well maybe half of those billions since his wife took his *** to the cleaners.

Amazon is one thing, they are just middlemen; at least they'll always refund your money when they screw up. What pisses me off is Retro Manufacturing issuing me an RMA, then turning around and disallowing it and keeping my parts. That's crooked as hell.

That is pretty crappy. That's part of why I ordered mine through Crutchfield, as I have always had very good customer service through them. Then if there is an issue, I go back to them, and they deal with the manufacturer.

Little more expensive through them though.... Out of curiosity, I just went and checked on the Redondo for a '65 Dart through them and they have it currently listed at $399, compared to $349 I saw on Amazon earlier, but they usually offer nice options like throwing in installation kits or offering reasonably priced options like having them pre-wire things.
