Trans Fluid to Use?

Believe it or not I use 303 hyd fluid. Caught it on a racing thread. No issues so far and it stays really clean. Price is right also. Used in farm equipment around $40 for 5 gallons. Only thing I do not like is it is clear and a ***** to see on the dipstick.

303 fluid is transmission fluid, so it will work. That spec is obsolete by decades, though, so avoid using the cheapest fluids that claim to meet the 303 spec. They may or may not, but since no one has tested to validate the 303 spec for many years, who knows? Using a modern, current spec, backwards compatible tractor fluid will probably do the job.
