Yeh, when I first pulled them out, everything flash rusted bad. I found that giving them a bath in Zep purple cleaner helped with that. The tools I then treated with some light mineral oil.

Would baking soda rinse immediately after kill the acid from the vinegar and then into clear water? Just a thought.
