working on my 68 cuda it has a 74 318 engine with electronic ignition, yesterday would not start so replace ballast resistor and it firer right up but 10 minutes later stall and actong like the ballast resistor burned up, what would do that?

or is it junk Chinese junk part

Typically when the BR goes bad, the car will start every time, but will die when the key is released to the run position.

I have had some not start until the key is released as well.
Same problem, just on the opposite circuit. (the start circuit of the ballast)

A bad fusible ignition link, or bulkhead connector, will/can pass voltage but may not supply enough electrons. Give yours an inspection.
For testing purposes, you can run the coil plus side jumped straight to any battery voltage.
A 4-pin ECU can also be jumpered straight to battery voltage
A 5-pin will overheat, so not recommended.
The ECU wants to see a minimum 9.5 volts and needs a solid ground.
