Welding Cart

...and I'm pretty sure any bottle with a sufficient charge becomes an instant missile if you knock the valve assembly off.

Oh yeah, I've seen it. We were constructing a new building many moons ago (late 70's) for a new steel fabricating shop.

There was a bank on one side of the building so it was built up with concrete blocks to form a wall/foundation for setting the metal walls on.

Well, someone had removed the safety cover on a large 02 cylinder and before it got secured, it got knocked over, the valve snapped off and it was like a missile, traveling across the floor and blowing completely through the block wall and buried itself in the dirt outside.

It's probably still there, as the wall got repaired and the tank wasn't removed.

If only there was a way to make pieces of metal stick together and not be wobbly.......
HHHHHMMMMM...........
WAIT! I KNOW!
Maybe we could WELD it together? NAW. That would never work.................

My bad........
I should put a $500 welder on a $25 cart.

Hey Rustyfish, I have the same welder, where do you find the brass tips for the welding wire feed cable? I am down to my last one. And who made the welding cart? Did you say who? Thanks
I had a supply of them from way back when so I haven't needed to buy any for years, but I suppose any retailer of Lincoln would have them. I don't think the tech has changed much at all over the years.

And the cart I didn't even pay attention to the brand. If I'm getting something at HF I don't really care because I know it's usually Chinese and it doesn't really matter.

I have a one piece cart from Northern Tool. Powder coated. It was under $100 too. I didn't like the carts that you had to assemble. Too much wobble.
Although my welder is small, I'm pretty pleased with the quality and at least as of now, there is no wobble and it feels very sturdy.

I was at Praxair today and they had a big assortment of Lincoln welder tips - looks like there's a Praxair location in Midlothian, TX (and one in Dallas, and one in Fort Worth, if you end up near either of those)

I will go look, thanks! I got my gas bottles at that shop you listed. But Lincoln says my tips are no longer sold, they want me to buy another torch, $200! And this weekend my wire feed stopped working, that part is $299! Looks like I might buy another welder!

Ohhh...if they've been discontinued...do you have the part number? Maybe somebody's got some in stock somewhere on the interwebs?
