Good day fellow A body enthusiasts. After researching past posts, I have more questions than answers about how to. So is it as straight forward as changing out the distribution block/proportioning valve, bolting in the dual with new lines to the MC, bleeding the system and calling it a day?

The system consists of stock drum brakes all around that were replaced with the same by the previous owner. He did ad the booster. The pedal travels fairly close to the floor prior to engagement, but then stops with power.

In the photos, the two lines parallel to each other go to the front brakes, opposite to back, top to MC. I still need to buy the two "swirlies" that attach to the new MC. So since I'll have five inputs into the distribution block (DB), just get a new one that accepts five or would the two lines from the MC merge before going into the DB. Hopefully the photos will help. Thanks in advance to any and all.

It is close to that straight forward swap as you think it is. You’ll probably need some extra lines. Check with PST (site supporter and member) with what they have. You can source all the parts easy enough brand new. PST, Dr.Diff etc.... has kits and packages for a 1 stop shop. Or you can do it at a local auto parts store or other internet parts place like rock auto if you know exactly what you need. I’m not a fan of rock auto myself but others here have. Knowing exactly what you need is the key.

First off, on a 4 wheel drum brake system, there is no proportioning valve. Only a distribution block. Yes, It is that straight forward. I am going to do it to my 64, but for the time being, I am using a single reservoir master cylinder for simplicity's sake to get the car with brakes QUICKLY. Please post your progress.

Great links guys to see it, get it and do it. So back line goes straight into MC while plugging a port in the DB. Now it's just making the time. Will report with progress.
Thanks very much all.....
